Conditions and restrictions

This service allows you to return your old VARIBOX Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs). Together we are working towards a circular economy, protecting the environment and contributing to sustainable storage and transport solutions for chemicals and detergents.

Take-back of used VARIBOX

The take-back conditions for used VARIBOX are based on:

  • ISO 16103:2005 Packaging – Transport packaging for dangerous goods – Recycled plastics material
  • EN 13430 Packaging – Requirements for packaging recoverable by material recycling

Conditions

The recycling is restricted to VARIBOX intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) that:

  1. are empty, all residues that can be removed by the emptier have been removed using the practices commonly employed to remove residues such as pouring, pumping, suctioning, shaking, scraping, chipping, etc. or, if necessary, a combination of these.
  2. are free from external product adhesion
  3. VARIBOX FC and VARIBOX CC: openings securely closed with the original lid and/or suction tube and/or caps.
  4. VARIBOX SC: ball valve open with the openings on top securely closed with the original lid and/or suction tube and/or caps.
  5. are suitable for transport.
  6. have evidence of the last contents and display clearly identifiable dangerous goods labels and hazard identification labels according to regulations, if applicable, and the MSDS of the contents must be provided on request.
  7. are marked with the month and year of manufacture.

Restrictions

Excluded for recycling are VARIBOX that:

  1. have contained substances hazardous to health and safety and/or the environment listed in Classes 6.1, 6.2 and 7, and/or products with the Hazard Statements H310, H330, H340, H350, H350i and/or all substances with toxic secondary risks.
  2. have contained products which have affected the plastics material (e.g. certain highly oxidizing substances), making it unsuitable for reprocessing.
  3. show signs of deterioration, e.g. by the effect of UV radiation causing degradation.
  4. are damaged, making it dangerous for handling and shipping.
  5. are more than 12 years old. 
  6. are marked with the symbol ‘REC’.

When you fail to comply with the set conditions or restrictions, any additional costs incurred by our company will be automatically invoiced to you. (Examples of these costs are: transport cost, additional cleaning costs, dismantling and or handling costs and adminstration costs etc.).
