The VARIBOX FC 1000 empty level sensor Viton is a special sensor in the VARIBOX FC that shows when the container is empty.
Good availability
VARIBOX FC 1000 Empty Level Sensor Viton
The VARIBOX FC 1000 Empty Level Sensor Viton automatically detects when the liquid inside your container has been almost completely extracted. Instead of relying on manual checks, the sensor provides an electrical signal that can be integrated directly into your process or control system. The float switch is positioned at the deepest point of the VARIBOX FC 1000. When the product level reaches the bottom of the container, the float drops and the electrical contact opens. At this point, approximately 0.5 litre of liquid remains. This signal can be used by your installation, for example to automatically switch off a pump when the VARIBOX is empty.
Make Container Status Part of Your Process
A 1,000-litre chemical supply can support a process for an extended period. Knowing exactly when that supply reaches empty makes it easier to control the transition to the next container. The Empty Level Sensor turns the physical liquid level inside the VARIBOX into an electrical signal. Your control system can use this information to trigger the appropriate action when the available chemical has been extracted. This creates a direct connection between the status of your VARIBOX FC 1000 and the equipment using the chemical. Instead of discovering an empty container through changes in pump performance or manual inspection, your system can recognise the empty condition automatically.
Help Protect Your Pump from Running Dry
One of the most useful applications of an empty level signal is pump control. When the float reaches the bottom of the VARIBOX, the electrical circuit opens. A correctly configured external control system can use this change to stop the connected pump. This helps prevent the pump from continuing to operate unnecessarily after the chemical supply has been exhausted. The exact action following the signal is determined by the design of your installation. This gives operators and system designers the flexibility to integrate the Empty Level Sensor into their own process controls.
Detect Empty at the Deepest Point
The position of the sensor is essential to its function. The float switch is installed at the deepest point of the VARIBOX FC 1000, allowing chemical extraction to continue until the container is virtually empty. According to the product specification, approximately 0.5 litre remains when the sensor indicates the empty condition. This low switching point allows almost all available product to be used before the empty signal is generated. Efficient emptying is particularly valuable when working with costly or hazardous chemicals, as it helps minimise unused product and residual liquid remaining inside the container.
Simple Float-Switch Principle
The Empty Level Sensor uses a straightforward and reliable operating principle. While liquid remains around the sensor, the float stays raised and the electrical circuit remains closed. As the last product is pumped from the VARIBOX, the liquid level falls and the float moves down. The movement of the float then breaks the electrical contact, creating the empty-level signal. This means the sensor does not need to continuously measure the exact volume inside the container. Its purpose is specific: to identify when the VARIBOX FC 1000 has reached its empty level.
Viton Configuration for Chemical Applications
This version of the sensor is manufactured using Viton, PE, PP and PVC. Choosing the correct material configuration is important because components inside the VARIBOX come into contact with the stored product. Suitability depends on the chemical itself as well as factors such as concentration, temperature and operating conditions. Chemical compatibility should therefore always be verified before selecting the sensor configuration. The Viton version provides a dedicated option for VARIBOX FC 1000 applications requiring this material configuration.
Connect the Sensor to Your Equipment
The Empty Level Sensor is designed to communicate with equipment outside the VARIBOX. A 2-pin sensor connector can be used to connect the level sensor in the inner container to the connection point on top of the VARIBOX. A corresponding counter connector then provides the interface with the customer’s external system. This modular approach makes it possible to integrate empty-level information into process equipment while keeping the VARIBOX itself part of a reusable chemical packaging system.
More Control Over Container Changeovers
Automatic empty detection can also support better planning around container replacement. Once the empty signal is generated, the process control system or operator knows that the available product in the current VARIBOX has been virtually exhausted. The container can then be disconnected according to the applicable operating procedure and replaced with the next VARIBOX. For installations using chemicals continuously, reliable information about container status can make changeovers more predictable and reduce dependence on manual monitoring.
Safer, Reusable and Sustainable
The Empty Level Sensor supports the wider VARIBOX principles of Safer, Reusable and Sustainable chemical packaging.
Safer
Automatic empty detection reduces the need for manual level checks and can provide the information required to stop connected equipment when product is no longer available.
Reusable
The sensor forms part of the serviceable VARIBOX FC 1000 system. Individual components can be maintained or replaced when required, supporting continued use of the reusable container.
Sustainable
Detecting the empty level close to the deepest point helps maximise the amount of usable chemical extracted from each VARIBOX. With approximately 0.5 litre remaining at the switching point, product residue is kept to a minimum.
Know When Your FC 1000 Is Empty
The VARIBOX FC 1000 Empty Level Sensor Viton provides a practical link between your chemical container and process control system. By detecting the liquid level at the deepest point of the VARIBOX, the sensor provides a clear electrical signal when the container is virtually empty. This information can be used to stop a pump or initiate another predefined action within your installation. Add automatic empty detection to your VARIBOX FC 1000 and keep your chemical handling process under control.
