VARIBOX and Tensid-Chemie – We are delighted to inform you today about a collaboration, which is a great example of companies not only talking about sustainability and occupational safety, but making it happen. In particular, its innovative and sustainable environmental and occupational safety goals are considered an industry benchmark.
New collaboration with
Tensid-Chemie.
Tensid-Chemie, a family-owned company from Germany, offers its customers environmentally friendly cleaning concepts and products, with the focus on the customer and process optimization. This protects the environment and ensures a higher process reliability.
The protection of employees and the environment is paramount for both companies.
Through the closed Safeline extraction system, contact with detergents is reduced to an absolute minimum. The integrated spill containment simplifies the storage and transport process and makes it as safe as possible.
The VARIBOX is used “dedicated,” meaning it is sealed after filling, the goods are used in production via a special coupling, and the VARIBOX is completely emptied and returned to Tensid-Chemie without being opened. This eliminates the need for elaborate flushing processes and wastewater, and the VARIBOX can be used as a true reusable container for up to 10 years.
Such a conversion is always associated with investments and costs a lot of time and effort, especially in the early stages. This challenge was embraced by Tensid-Chemie because they firmly believed in the concept. The result is impressive… Within 2 months of the starting signal, Tensid-Chemie was able to make the necessary preparations.

Mr. Michael Peter, Managing Director, had to swallow some bitter pills: “At first, the conversion seemed to work smoothly, but initial tests revealed some difficulties, such as a filling arm that was too low for the VARIBOX in the automated filling system. However, as a family business, we can quickly react to such challenges and develop solutions through our dedicated team, just as our customers expect from us.”
In January, the first site of the new customer was already converted. Our account manager Torben Pfeffer was here with his many years of experience and supported the implementation processes.
We would like to highlight one of the employees from production in particular, who directly put Torben Pfeffer’s figurative explanation into practice. Torben Pfeffer: “Our VARIBOX is so sturdy that you could drive a nail into the wall with it.” The employee took him at his word and nailed several nails into a pallet with a section of the VARIBOX.

VARIBOX FC 800L
The double-walled VARIBOX is available in an EPDM or Viton version depending on the chemicals that will be packed in the container. This will be fully matched to the Safeline system. But of course, the VARIBOX FC is also applicable for other extractor tubes. The full containment IBCs are available in many different colors as blue, dark blue, yellow, orange, green, and natural to match your product coding. Next to that, to be 100% safe the containers are equipped with automatic venting in terms of a pressure relief vent or combi-vent.
